    Diane J. Hurley, 79, of Visalia, Calif., and formerly of Hilo, died June 15. Born in Hilo, she was a beautician for 32 years. Private memorial service for family to be held. Burial will be at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the COPD Foundation. Survived by three children, Donna, Mike and Julie; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

    Eletta “Mary” Hope Llanes, 64, of Waimea died June 18 at home. Born in North Kona, she was a certified nurse’s assistant, bookkeeper and member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday (July 8) at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona. Mass at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Paul’s Catholic Church cemetery on St. Paul Road in Honalo.     Mark Lewin Kapahua, 52, of Hilo died June 23 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and volunteered at the Glad Tidings soup kitchen, feeding countless homeless people. Born in Boston, he was a general surgeon and obstetrician specializing in sports medicine, 19-time Hawaii Ironman Championships competitor, Ultraman and Lavaman competitor, paddler with Kai O Pua Canoe Club and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
