Clara Vivian Cruz, 78, of Paauilo died Aug. 28 at home. Born in Paauilo, she was a retired cafeteria worker/custodian/substitute teacher at Paauilo Elementary and Intermediate School and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa and Paauilo Senior Citizens. No services. No flowers. Memorial donations to any Hurricane Harvey relief fund. Survived by husband, Vicente Cruz; daughters, Lynn (David) Kikau, Kiana Kikau and Benita (Murray) Salazar; son, Vincent Cruz; sister, Ethel (Danny) Jose; brother, Richard (Violet) Carvalho; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Harue Kise, 96, of North Kohala died Aug. 30 at St. Therese Residential Care in Buena Park, Calif. She was a homemaker in Halaula, seamstress and cook. Memorial celebrations for her and her late husband, Shintoku, 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Kohala Jodo Mission in Kapaau. No koden (monetary gifts). Donald James “Jim” Murray, 87, of Hilo died Aug. 2. Born in Hilo, he was a retired land surveyor, owner of Murray Smith and Associates and consultant for AECOM. Private services at a later date. Baron “Barry” Von Hennings, 77, of Ocean View died Aug. 11 at home. Born in Portland, Ore., he was a retired photographer for the San Jose Mercury News and owner of The Photography House in Sonora, Calif. Private services held. Survived by son, Garrett W. Hennings of Ocean View; daughters, Rachelle (Kirk Newman) Hennings of Waikoloa and Andrea Hennings of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; longtime friend Judith R. Hennings of Kailua-Kona; a grandson. Eleanor Hayako Yokomoto, 92, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 31 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker. Celebration of life at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at the Regency at Hualalai.
