Antonina “Toni” Himalaya, 89, of Hilo died Aug. 17 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Papaaloa, she was a retired housekeeper for the former Sheraton Waiakea Village Resort. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Monday (Sept. 11) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 12) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Jeffery (Lucy) Himalaya of Sacramento, Calif., Jonathan Himalaya of Hilo and Joel (Katherine) Himalaya of Hilo; daughters, Jennifer (Elroy Jr.) Osorio of Hilo, Janice (Gary) Ferguson of Honolulu and Judith (Derwin) Gealon of Ewa Beach; brother, Ponciano (Priscilla) Robia of Hilo; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Charles Burton Legg III, 66, of Waikoloa died Aug. 19 at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born in Catskill, N.Y., he was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for EM Rivera & Sons and U.S. Army veteran. Ken Kenichi Shigeoka, 89, of Hilo died Aug. 21 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Keaau, he was a retired foreman with the former M. Sonomura Contracting Co. of Hilo and member of Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Homestead Chuo Kumiai and Operating Engineers Local 3. Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by wife, Margie Shigeoka of Hilo; son, Craig (Claire) Shigeoka of Hilo; daughters, Gwenn Tomiyoshi and Debbie (Ken) Hanagami of Hilo; sister, Asae Kumiji of Hilo; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and cousins.
