Barbara Jean Anderson, 90, of Volcano died Dec. 27 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in Covina, Calif., she was a retired registered nurse for the former Kona, Honokaa and Hilo hospitals, co-owner and operator of Polynesian Orchids &Anthuriums and member of numerous nursery organizations. Roger Eugene Mainard, 55, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 1 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Ozark, Ark., he was a dishwasher for Humpy’s and former mechanic for Kona Kwik Lube and Lex Brodie’s. Caroline Castro Rokonuzzaman, 44, of Holualoa died Dec. 31 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in As Ter Laje, Saipan, she was a caregiver and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday (Jan. 8) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass at 1 p.m. Entombment to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. Survived by daughters, Antonette (Rob) Castro and Donnalyn (Jeoffrey John) Manalo of Kailua-Kona; son, Cole (Heather) Castro of California; father, Pedro Castro of Saipan; brothers, Jeffrey (Sylvia) Castro, Santiago (Taija) Castro and Bobbie (Raul) Kaipat of Saipan, Christopher (Ayden) Castro of Honolulu; sisters, Patricia (Totoy) Abril of Guam, Sherma (Romeo) Villanueva of Kailua-Kona, Cynthia Castro and Frances (Ronnie) Bondoc of Saipan, Jamie (Harry) Castro of Guam; nieces, nephews and cousins.
