William “Blackie” Lani Abraham, 85, of Hilo died Nov. 27 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired pin setter for the former Hilo Lanes, butcher for Keaau Slaughterhouse and the former Miko Meats, roofer with Honolulu/Hilo Pacific Roofing and Flooring, Hawaii Protective Agency security guard, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and member of Hawaiian Bowling Club and other bowling leagues. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 4) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 10-11 a.m. Friday (Jan. 5) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Aloha or casual attire. George “Charlie” Charles Clifton, 63, of Pahoa died Dec. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hollywood, Calif., he was the owner of the former Kapiolani Mules on Oahu and big-wave and tow-in surfer. Celebration of life 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 6) at Pohoiki. Survived by daughters, Tatiana (Matthew Thoene) Clifton of Pahoa and Anna Tasha Clifton of Kaimuki, Oahu; son, Keoki Kale Clifton of Waimanalo,Oahu; fiancee, Karla Welch of Glenwood; mother, Araminta Clifton of Pahoa; sisters, Kathleen (Geoff) Cleak of Walnut Grove, Calif., Teresa (Chi) Samalee of Tacoma, Wash., Lila (Gilman) Kahai and Amy (Gordon) Naehu of Pahoa; brother, Jared Clifton of Portland, Ore.; a granddaughter; nieces, nephews and cousins. Jonathan Arend Ho‘okili Hart, 35, of Honokaa died Dec. 15 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Hilo, he was a musician and film industry grip. Matthew Ape Kamelamela Jr., 66, of Hilo died Nov. 21 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was an entertainer, former greeter/host at Zippy’s and member of New Hope-Hilo and Alu Like kupuna program. Visitation 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 6) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Clarence Victor Pacheco Jr., 56, of Hakalau died Dec. 14 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a farmer. Born in Holonga, Vava‘u, Tonga, he was a retired superintendent for Mauna Lani Golf Course, Kaluakoi Golf Course on Molokai, Kaanapali Golf Course on Maui and Waikele Golf Course on Oahu, and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honomu Branch. Visitation 9-10:45 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 6) at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honomu Branch. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery, Mormon section.
